| Preparation |
| Locates the zone valve before starting the changeover process. |
| Identifies the main supply line and the main supply manometer, then verifies the service pressure. |
| Verifies the gas cylinders and their contents, confirming whether a tank exchange is required. |
| Examines the connecting piping for defects or corrosion. |
| Checks that the main line pressure alarm is operational. |
| Examines manometers on the primary (in-use) and reserve gas banks to verify adequate supply pressure before changeover. |
| Identifies the manual or automatic switch-over mechanism. |
| Changeover Process |
| Transition service from the low-pressure bank to the full reserve bank, ensuring uninterrupted gas supply. |
| Disconnects cylinders to be replaced. |
| Removes cylinder cap and wrapping, briefly opens the valve ('cracks' the tank) to remove any debris from the tank inlet. |
| Connects full cylinders to the pipe connectors, ensuring no cross-threading occurs while tightening. Avoid overtightening. |
| Opens valves on all cylinders and checks for leaks. |
| Confirms that adequate service pressure is maintained. |
| Post-Intervention |
| Seals the used cylinders with caps. |
| Labels cylinders to indicate their status: 'Full' for unused cylinders, 'Empty' for depleted cylinders, and 'In-Use' for cylinders currently connected to the system or actively supplying gas. |
| Disposes of any waste materials, including protective tank wrappings. |
