Aerosol Humidification Therapy #U2013 Large Volume Nebulizer (LVN) — Contraindications
Contraindications
- Severe bronchospasm
- Hemodynamic instability during oxygen therapy
- Inability to maintain airway patency
- Risk of water aspiration if condensation drains toward patient
Relative Contraindications
- Recent facial trauma or skull fracture with risk of air leakage
- Facial burns or deformities interfering with mask fit
- Claustrophobia affecting mask use
- Risk of fluid overhydration, particularly in pediatric patients
- High risk of aerosol contamination in airborne isolation
- Inadequate monitoring of condensate drainage
